Job Scope: Cutting Tool Engineer
- The primary responsibility of this role is to manage and optimize cutting tool processes, ensuring seamless integration with our advanced tool management system, TDM.
- As a process co-owner, you will collaborate with CAM engineers to define, maintain, and update cutting tooling processes.
- You will be responsible for inventory optimization, cost analysis, and defining new elements and assemblies in TDM.
- Manage tool geometric data and cutting parameters, generate and maintain cutting tool drawings, and develop or specify tool measurement programs for pre-setting systems.
- Define and ensure synchronization of tool group drive point definitions in collaboration with CAM engineers.
- Define tool numbers, tool lists, and link to MBOMs, and migrate tool definition and data from legacy systems.
- Support operations queries, CAM engineering queries, and define, set up, and maintain TDM-CAM interfaces.
- Localize training material for embedding in Landing Gear's Learning Management System, machine tool table definition, and chip reader system development and deployment.
- Tool life management and optimization, interface and communicate with procurement, and support root cause analysis.
- Support PFD, PFMEA, and Control Plan development and maintenance.
Basic Qualification & Job Requirements:
The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, 5 years of experience in a hard metal manufacturing facility, and a passion for precision, multi-axis machining.
Experience with TDM systems is highly sought after, and knowledge of CATIA, NX, TopSolid, VeriCut, and Zoller tool setting systems is advantageous.
You will form part of the NPI team and collaborate during process design with Product Architects, CAM Engineers, and Product Assurance engineers on the optimal tooling solution for the production process.
This role is pivotal in supporting NPI projects and receiving Requests for Assistance from Operations, where swift resolution is key to enable production continuity.
