Scientific Advisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientific Advisor to join our team at GSK. As a key member of our scientific community, you will play a critical role in developing and expanding our networks in the vaccines and infectious disease area across the Netherlands and GSK as a whole.

• Develop and expand networks in the vaccines and infectious disease area across the Netherlands and GSK as a whole.
• Be a spokesperson at internal and external scientific events and provide expertise in the field of vaccinology and infectious disease control to ensure informed decisions are based on the latest scientific data and knowledge.
• Contribute to the development of and participate in appropriate meetings, including advisory board meetings, scientific workshops, investigator meetings, expert meetings, and CME meetings.
• Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the therapy areas by reviewing the literature, discussing with key opinion leaders and stakeholders, participating in cross-functional interactions, attending scientific congresses, and more.
• Support GSK-sponsored scientific research and clinical studies, ensuring the right approval processes for GSK-supported studies and following up during the life cycle of the research project.
• Prepare portfolios of data and input into product submissions for influential bodies such as the Zorg Instituut, Gezondheidsraad, RIVM, and GGD.
• Provide medical advice in all aspects of GSK's business for the vaccines area.

• Work closely with marketing, commercial, market access, communications, regulatory, and clinical colleagues on pre-launch planning, including strategic evidence planning, evidence generation, and external expert engagement.
• Have a key role in planning and developing medical, promotional, and educational campaigns and materials, ensuring medical accuracy and compliance with product licenses and relevant codes of practice.
• Provide analyses and reviews of GSK products, therapy areas, and competitor products, making recommendations and providing input for current and future strategic direction.
• Prepare and deliver presentations for sales force training programs and other materials and briefing sessions, ensuring scientific data and medical concepts are understood and promotional strategy is consistent with scientific data.
• Develop scientific tools, such as scientific platform content, presentation of new data, therapy area reviews, product monographs, slide sets, training packages, and more, as appropriate to business and customer needs.
• Have a key role in scientific communication, medical governance, management of grants and donations, management of safety and pharmaceutical quality issues.
• Be responsible for coordinating GSK's response to complaints from bodies such as the IGJ or CGR, competitor companies, or medical professionals, which may involve engaging members of the extended brand team.
• Serve as Local Medical Lead (LML) for vaccines-sponsored studies, providing local support to study design, managing local medical activities before, during, and after study completion and analysis.
• Maintain an open and trustful work environment where constructive feedback is used as a tool to support each individual and provide opportunities to develop and evolve.
