We are in search of an interim Occupational Hygiene and Safety Manager to enhance our QHSE team. This position is critical for fostering a culture of safety and well-being within our innovative and global organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute occupational hygiene and safety policies, procedures, and programs that adhere to regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Perform thorough risk assessments and evaluations to pinpoint occupational exposures within the workplace.
  • Develop and implement strategies aimed at controlling and mitigating occupational health and safety risks, including exposure to hazardous substances, noise, vibration, and physical dangers.
  • Supervise the execution of occupational health monitoring and surveillance initiatives to evaluate employee health status and identify potential health threats.
  • Lead investigations into incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive actions for occupational exposure incidents, injuries, and illnesses.
  • Create and deliver training programs on occupational health and safety to enhance employee awareness, knowledge, and skills.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to weave occupational hygiene and safety considerations into business processes, projects, and operations.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels and partnerships with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other pertinent stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Professional certifications in both occupational hygiene and safety.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in conducting risk assessments, exposure monitoring, and occupational health surveillance programs.
  • Proficiency in identifying and evaluating workplace hazards and implementing suitable control measures.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Proven leadership and project management skills, with a successful track record in leading occupational health and safety initiatives.
  • Capacity to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and occupational health and safety software applications.
