Position Overview:
As a Six Sigma Black Belt with a robust Design for Six Sigma (DfSS) background, you will be an integral member of the Design Quality Engineering team. This team comprises highly skilled engineers, scientists, and architects dedicated to supporting Philips Business Units in the creation of safe, reliable, and compliant medical products.
The Design Quality Engineering team consists of approximately 20 specialists and operates within the Quality and Reliability department of the Innovation and Strategy organization.
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive Six Sigma Black Belt and Green Belt training, focusing on both DfSS and DMAIC methodologies;
- Mentor and coach Black Belt and Green Belt candidates towards certification and successful project completion;
- Collaborate with the Six Sigma team to enhance and maintain training materials;
- Actively engage in the Global Philips Six Sigma community and advocate for Six Sigma practices within R&D and other relevant sectors;
- Participate in projects to maintain hands-on quality engineering experience and stay abreast of the latest innovations (approximately 25% of your time).
DfSS is a vital capability for innovation professionals to effectively execute initiatives at various stages of development, including Research & Development. Therefore, fostering DfSS as a capability within the innovation domain is essential for successful outcomes. In addition to creating robust designs through DfSS, we utilize DMAIC for effective problem-solving. You will see the tangible impact of your contributions as you drive quality and meaningful innovations or design enhancements, leveraging DfSS and DMAIC as foundational elements.
Qualifications:
- A strong passion for applying DfSS principles in the innovation domain, particularly in design for quality;
- A background in R&D with a solid understanding of product and software development;
- Experience in a regulated medical environment is preferred;
- A certified Six Sigma Black Belt, with aspirations to advance towards Master Black Belt certification;
- Exceptional training abilities, capable of simplifying complex concepts for diverse audiences;
- Proficient coaching skills to guide Black Belt and Green Belt candidates through certification and project completion;
- A collaborative team player;
- Willingness to travel up to 20% for training delivery and onsite support.
