About this position
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to join our team at TNO, where we develop software for Automated Driving vehicles. In order to have automated driving accepted by the public, it is crucial to be able to explain the behavior of the vehicle.
Job Description:
- The successful candidate will work on developing an ontology to capture a specified set of scenarios related to Automated Driving.
- They will assess whether the graph-based approach allows for easier scenario detection and definition.
- Additionally, they will check the completeness of existing standards and possibly contribute to their extensions.
Proposed Approach:
- The analyst will define a challenging set of scenarios in a predefined operational domain.
- They will familiarize themselves with relevant standards such as ASAM OpenXOntology and ISO, as well as the Cetran Scenario Catalogue.
- They will research and weigh the pros and cons of existing graph modelling frameworks.
- They will implement existing Ontology proposals in a graph modelling framework of choice.
- They will also search for and utilize open-source data sets that could support their work, relating them to TNO-internally available datasets or implementing their work in an AD simulator (e.g. Carla).
- Finally, they will present results regarding the feasibility and complexity of the graph-based approach for scenario detection.
Requirements:
- Familiarity with statistics for data science and experience with data processing, clustering, and classification methods.
- Programming skills, including proficiency in a programming language of choice.
- A willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing requirements.
- Beneficial: experience with Linux and ROS, as well as familiarity with vehicle automation.
Work Environment:
You will work at the Integrated Vehicle Safety department of TNO on the Automotive Campus in Helmond. The department focuses on developing software for automated driving vehicles, testing it in pilots and on public roads.
