Research Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Security Specialist to join our team at the Center for Information and Media Processing (ZIM) at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal.

• Implementing IT security measures based on BSI standards
• Conducting security analyses and penetration tests
• Coordinating the implementation of IT security measures at central network, operating system, and application level
• Processing security incidents and coordinating necessary IT measures in close coordination with ZIM employees and the information security organization
• Supporting the introduction of the BSI IT baseline protection methodology in ZIM's IT infrastructure
• Providing advice on IT security issues, training, and awareness-raising for university employees

• Completed scientific university degree in computer science, IT security, physics, mathematics, communications engineering, administrative or business informatics
• Experience in the field of IT security, ideally in a scientific environment
• Sound knowledge and practical experience in security mechanisms at network, operating system, and application level
• Sound knowledge in process-oriented IT service and IT security management frameworks
• Knowledge of relevant standards of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI)
• Very good written and spoken German and English skills
