We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Research Assistant I to join our team in the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy at HKU.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct research projects related to anti-cancer herbal medicines and natural products under the supervision of Professor Clara Lau.
- Assist in cell biology experiments, including cell culture and animal studies.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve research goals and objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or MPhil degree in pharmacology, pharmacy, biomedical science, cancer biology, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of research experience, preferably in herbal medicines and/or cancer research.
- Experience in cell culture, animal handling, and phytochemistry.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
What We Offer
The appointment will commence in March/April 2024 on a 1-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. Other benefits include annual leave, medical benefits, and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
