Offshore Gas Systems Service Specialist

Position Overview

As a Service Specialist, you will oversee all facets of commissioning, start-up, technical assistance, and the service lifecycle of Power and Offshore Oil & Gas systems. This includes managing customer relationships, troubleshooting, and providing aftersales support.

  • Engage with customers and key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration during commissioning and service activities.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of project-specific requirements and workflows for site commissioning, system operation, and delivery.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of operational standards, including ISO and HSE regulations, such as Permit to Work (PTW) and commissioning protocols.
  • Exhibit detailed expertise in processes related to mechanical, electrical, and automation systems as they pertain to Gas Systems, adhering to both company and client specifications.
  • Develop service procedures and schedules for all tasks associated with process, mechanical, electrical, and control automation concerning HGS systems.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the HGS environment, including upstream and downstream processes and their interdependencies.
  • Oversee all aspects of commissioning and service-related documentation and deliverables, focusing primarily on Gas Systems, with additional knowledge of Boiler Systems being advantageous.
  • Ensure compliance with client specifications and statutory regulations related to site activities.
  • Manage third-party or subcontracted commissioning and service personnel in line with company standards.
  • Act as the primary contact for the service lifecycle of HGS equipment, providing technical support, troubleshooting, system monitoring, health checks, training, and aftersales inquiries.
  • Promote continuous improvement and innovation within our operations.
  • Ensure all relevant documents, certifications, and training are current and valid.

Candidate Profile

We seek individuals who are customer-centric and excel at building and nurturing business relationships. You are committed to going above and beyond to support client success and are open to international travel, embracing a flexible work approach.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of total experience, with at least 5 years in a similar role within the industry.
  • Advanced skills and knowledge in offshore and marine plant safety.
  • Experience with gas handling systems, including Inert Gas Generation and Exhaust Gas Cleaning, as well as combustion, steam, heat transfer, and fuel handling.
  • Familiarity with safety shutdown systems, including PLC logic and HMI systems (Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley Rockwell & Siemens).
  • Knowledge of rotating equipment, such as fans and pumps.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to travel frequently, both onshore and offshore, with periods of office-based work in between assignments.
