Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our Transmission & Distribution Technology (TDT) team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and specifying systems and constructions for high-voltage transmission and distribution, including substations, HVDC installations, and high-voltage connections.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, with practical knowledge of multiple CAD and 3D tools. They will also have expertise in analysis tools such as SAP2000, FEM, and Python, as well as knowledge of international standards.

The successful candidate will be a proactive team player who is eager to learn and take on new challenges. They will be responsible for advising on, modelling, and operational work for the structural design and practical aspects of transmission and distribution structures, as well as collaborating with interdisciplinary teams on grid-related projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising on, modelling, and operational work for the structural design and practical aspects of transmission and distribution structures.
  • Preparing specifications and tender documents.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams on grid-related projects.
  • Engaging in discussions with customers about design, project realization, and progress.
  • Encouraging the adoption of BIM and SE methodologies within TDT.

Requirements:

  • MSc-level degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Practical knowledge of multiple CAD and 3D tools.
  • Expertise in analysis tools such as SAP2000, FEM, and Python.
  • Knowledge of international standards.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English, both oral and written.
  • A willingness to travel abroad (about 10%).
  • A proactive attitude, taking responsibility for your tasks and competencies.
  • Curiosity, interest, and engagement.
  • An open mindset and innovative thinking, making collaboration both enjoyable and engaging.
