At Picnic, we are pushing the boundaries of the grocery industry with our innovative and sustainable app-only service. As a result-driven Procurement Specialist - Category Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the success of our business.

About You

We are seeking an ambitious professional with superb category management and negotiation skills to join our diverse team at our Amsterdam HQ. If you have a passion for driving commercial growth and building lasting relationships with suppliers, this could be your dream opportunity.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A BSc or MSc degree in Business Administration, Economics or a related field
  • 1-4 years of experience as a Buyer and/or Category Manager in a similar industry
  • Lots of energy, persistence, and drive to ensure successful project outcomes
  • An ability to negotiate competitive conditions with suppliers and create value-added partnerships
  • Fluency in Dutch and English
About the Role

  • Defining clear negotiation strategies to ensure competitive conditions with suppliers
  • Running negotiations with multiple suppliers from start to finish
  • BUILDING and developing a deep understanding of your category through a combination of Picnic data, customer insights, and supplier input
  • Identifying commercial opportunities and using a data-first approach to drive category innovations
  • CREATING and executing pragmatic plans to drive category improvements
  • Understanding the end-to-end supply chain and identifying opportunities to improve product quality and profitability
