Regulatory Affairs Specialist

Key Responsibilities

  • Support strategic projects by providing regulatory expertise and collaborating with R&D teams to develop innovative solutions for reducing product and process hazards.
  • Offer regulatory support to internal and external customers, including engagement with R&D teams to find solutions for reducing product and process hazards.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, objectives, plans, and procedures for chemical compliance programs.
  • Participate in workflows facilitating shipment clearance and new product approvals.
  • Engage in external customer communication processes.
  • Develop, refine, and maintain training on regulatory topics, including corporate standards for meeting the company's chemical compliance obligations.
  • Maintain the Team extranet site and support Team stakeholder communication programs.
  • Facilitate article compliance through engagement with third-party service providers and procurement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in regulatory affairs, product stewardship, compliance, chemical consultancy, or risk assessment.
  • Experience in EU REACH compliance, including ECHA activity tracking and substance volume tracking, and proficiency in IUCLID/REACH IT.
  • Experience in UK REACH implementation, including DUIN submissions, and familiarity with Comply with UK REACH.
  • Experience in multiple aspects of product stewardship, including risk assessment, hazard classification & labelling, and other related topics.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read, interpret, and operationalize chemical regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills, to communicate clearly, succinctly, and effectively in person, over the phone, on remote meetings, and in writing.
  • Able to connect with all levels within the organization.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to remain calm, professional, and positive.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment with moderate supervision.
  • Highly motivated, with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple activities concurrently.
