Job Description:


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Analyst for Serious and Organised Crime.


About the Role:


The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the activities defined within the operational plan of the Operational Task Force (OTF).


Key Responsibilities:



  • Proactively detect and identify High Value Targets and their associates, whose activities affect the EU Member States;
  • Draft related intelligence reports to the relevant EU Member States and other countries, respecting data protection requirements;
  • Coordinate with the relevant Analysis Projects the provision of Europol services and products to the Member States and other countries in relation to HVT investigations;
  • Promote information exchange between Europol and concerned Member States/third parties to enhance the situational picture on serious and organised crime affecting the EU;
  • Support relevant investigations from Europol headquarters or any other relevant location;
  • Conduct open source research;
  • Perform other tasks defined within the Operational Plan of the OTF.

Requirements:


The ideal candidate will have at least three years of professional experience in the field of law enforcement, which is relevant to the duties to be carried out during the short-term secondment.


Essential Criteria:



  • Sound knowledge of particular ongoing investigations or direct involvement in respective investigative or intelligence proceedings at national level, detailed in the operational plan of the OTF;
  • Membership of a competent authority of a participating Member State of the OTF – Spain, Belgium or Netherlands;
  • Direct access to relevant national databases of the seconding authority, subject to applicable law and MS authorisation;
  • Experience in developing, coordinating and conducting serious and organised crime investigations, especially in relation to fighting international drug-related organised crime;
  • Experience in drafting extensive intelligence and/or analysis reports;
  • Ability to provide security clearance at the required level at the start of the secondment.

Desirable Criteria:



  • SIENA access rights;
  • Thorough knowledge of Spanish language;
  • Experience in working in an international working environment;
  • Experience in working with Europol;
  • Experience in handling large sets of data.

Working Conditions:


The SNEs seconded short-term will be assigned to the O2-12 in the European Serious & Organised Crime Centre (ESOCC) Department, Operations Directorate, to support the Operational Task Force.


Organisational Setting:


The SNEs seconded short-term will be based on a multi-national and multi-disciplinary approach and formed to carry out a specific project, coordinating intelligence and investigative efforts focusing on the criminal activities of one or more selected High Value Targets (HVT) and members of their criminal network.


Europol's Mission:


Europol delivers a number of products and services to national law enforcement agencies to support them in their fight against international serious and organised crime, as well as terrorism.


Reporting Lines:


The SNEs seconded short-term will report to and work under the supervision of the Head of Team, O2-12 and Head of Unit, O2-1.
