About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Design Manager to lead our Knitwear team in the Menswear Division. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for the design and execution of seasonal collections for our Sweaters and Jersey product category.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 6 designers and work closely with developers, merchandisers, and the Senior Design Director to plan and develop each season's collection.
  • Design and execute seasonal range plans for review with the Senior Design Director and VP of Design.
  • Research trends and conduct market research to inform the Tommy Hilfiger Menswear brand strategy.
  • Translate research and trends into a commercial TH Menswear collection.
  • Follow the range plan set by the merchandisers to build commercial outerwear collections.
  • Prepare all necessary design decks and boards for divisional presentations.
  • Collaborate with product developers to ensure a smooth workflow each season.
  • Work closely with the Technical Department to execute garment fittings.
  • Attend fittings to resolve any issues that may arise during the fitting process.
  • Develop new fabrics, yarns, and wools.
  • Work with the Fabric Team to select the best fabrics for each collection.
  • Present collections to the merchandising team and management as requested.
  • Meet divisional deadlines.
  • Ensure that the Tommy DNA is evident in each garment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design - Menswear.
  • Minimum 12+ years of experience in leading Men's brands, with at least 8 years of knit experience.
  • Commercial mentality with consumer insights.
  • Solid knowledge of garment specifications, fitting, and pattern making.
  • Eye for detail with extensive knowledge of fabrics, knits, and yarns.
  • Passion for men's fashion with a good sense of style.
  • Great sense of color and patternation.
  • People management experience of 4+ years.
  • A team player, mature, and flexible.
  • Excellent computer skills (Illustrator/Photoshop) and hand-drawn skills.
  • 3D experience.
  • Ability to translate trends into a commercial collection with a contemporary handwriting.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal, as English is the working language of the company.
  • Open communicator and able to work with multiple personalities.
  • Willing to travel to Europe and Asia for supplier/vendor visits.
