Overview
Collaborate with a diverse team of geotechnical and geological engineers in a global setting. As a dedicated Geotechnical Earthquake Consultant, you will be part of a group of engineers who provide expert advice in various fields including maritime structures, hydraulic engineering, infrastructure, airports, tunnels, dikes, land reclamation, and buildings both in the Netherlands and internationally.
Role Responsibilities
In your capacity as a Geotechnical Earthquake Consultant, you will engage in projects that range from significant multidisciplinary initiatives to smaller assignments requiring specialized seismic input. Your responsibilities may include acting as a specialist, design leader, or reviewer, delivering geotechnical seismic advice, and mentoring junior and mid-level colleagues. You will be involved in stimulating work within enthusiastic and diverse teams, contributing your expertise to complex engineering projects while collaborating with colleagues from various global offices.
Key Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
• A Master’s or Doctorate degree in Geo-Engineering (Geological or Geotechnical Engineering/Engineering Seismology) with relevant coursework or thesis work focused on Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering or Engineering Seismology.
• Between 5 to 15 years of professional experience (medior or senior level).
• Strong numerical skills (e.g., proficiency in Plaxis) and a keen interest in digital advancements (e.g., scripting, automation).
• Ability to manage and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of colleagues. You should be cooperative, commercially aware, and capable of building strong relationships quickly.
• A motivated and enthusiastic approach, with a commitment to technical excellence.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English (Dutch language skills are a plus).
• A flexible mindset and willingness to travel as necessary.
