Internal Auditor

About the Role

ZOA, an international Christian NGO, supports people who have lost everything due to armed conflict or natural disaster. Our work is coordinated from our international office in the Netherlands, and we are active in multiple countries in Africa, South America, the Middle East Region, and Asia.

We are seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to join our team. As an Internal Auditor, you will be responsible for preparing, conducting, and reporting on internal audits. These audits will be conducted periodically in each of our country organisations and in our international office in Apeldoorn.

You will review and analyse systems, documents, and information, and frequently travel to our country programmes to connect the administrative status with our operational practice at field level. You will meet and talk to the people we serve in our programmes in countries like South Sudan, DR Congo, and Colombia.

Based on the experience gained in these audits, you will contribute to monitoring countries' efforts to improve and to the ongoing development of our quality and risk management standards and systems.

Requirements

• You must fully support the vision, mission, and Christian identity of ZOA.
• You hold a university degree in a relevant field, such as auditing or business administration.
• You have multiple years of audit experience and preferably have some experience with relief and development or comparable programmes.
• You have organisational, intercultural, and interpersonal sensitivity.
• You are analytically strong, persuasive, and able to present a clear opinion.
• You have a natural attitude of motivating people.
• You are good in planning and organising your work.
• You have an excellent command of English, both verbally and written; French and Spanish are a bonus, but not essential.
• You are willing and able to travel to a ZOA programme country three to five times per year.
