Lead Cloud Engineer

The Deutsche Bundesbank is a unique institution, playing a crucial role in the European System of Central Banks and financial stability. We are a strong team of professionals who work together to create the technical IT conditions for a stable euro and other central bank tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • As a Lead Cloud Engineer, you will plan and coordinate the development and integration of cloud services for the Bundesbank.
  • You will focus on implementing and configuring landing zones in the public cloud, including networks, gateways, load balancers, firewalls, storage, databases, and managed services, with a focus on high automation levels.
  • You will support other teams in migrating workloads to the public cloud and play a key role in operating public cloud services.
  • You will coordinate with internal and external experts to fulfill your tasks.
  • You will increasingly use agile working methods and approaches to carry out your tasks.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, software engineering).
  • Excellent knowledge and many years of experience in IT engineering.
  • Excellent knowledge and several years of experience in planning and providing services in cloud environments (e.g., with landing zones).
  • Excellent knowledge and several years of experience in operating IT infrastructure products.
  • Excellent knowledge and many years of experience in managing and designing ITIL processes.
  • Good knowledge of modern infrastructure and system deployment concepts (CI/CD environments), container platforms, and various cloud models.
  • Good knowledge of integrating interfaces to IT infrastructure, applications, internal management systems, and external sources.
  • Good knowledge and experience in automating tasks (e.g., with Terraform or Ansible).
  • Good knowledge of a cloud service provider, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Knowledge of agile methods in IT engineering (e.g., DevOps) and experience in agile development structures.
  • Good written and spoken English language skills.
  • High level of commitment and good work organization.
  • Good analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Ability to work in a team.
