We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Customs Compliance Specialist (maternity cover – 12 months contract) in our office.
Department Overview:
The Customs & Compliance division is responsible for all customs and compliance-related functions within Capri Holdings Ltd (CHL) at the Distribution Center. This includes managing customs licenses and ensuring compliance with EU import and export regulations for all brands (Michael Kors, Jimmy Choo, and Versace). The Customs Compliance Specialist will report to the Senior Manager of Customs & Compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing daily customs operations and assisting the Customs team in establishing an effective customs environment for seamless Inbound and Outbound customs processing, including product classification. Ensuring proper implementation and maintenance of applicable customs licenses to adhere to the latest customs regulations. Taking charge of customs enhancements and working in alignment with agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Collaborating with external agencies and various functional teams within the organization. Building a strong network with the global CHL customs and compliance team to facilitate knowledge sharing, innovative ideas, and best practices. Coordinating with all departments within the Distribution Center, peers in the global compliance team, and colleagues from various Michael Kors/Jimmy Choo/Versace departments worldwide, including Product Development and Sourcing. Maintaining relationships with Customs authorities in shipping and destination countries, government agencies, regional suppliers, logistics service providers, customs agents, and freight forwarders.Qualifications:
Higher education level (HBO). Customs education 'Vakopleiding Declarant' or an equivalent qualification. Minimum of 3 years of customs experience, including AEO and bonded warehousing. Proficient in English (both verbal and written). Strong listening and questioning skills to present information clearly and logically. Proficient in PC-based software (MS Office, WMS, DMS). Knowledgeable in forwarding, transportation, and logistics processes. Ability to work effectively as a team member in a moderately stressful environment. Excellent planning skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Proactive attitude with a strong initiative. Creative problem-solving skills.
