We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Financial Control Specialist to join our team in the Netherlands. In this key role, you will be instrumental in enhancing our internal control framework and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Your expertise will be vital in identifying and mitigating risks, streamlining processes, and safeguarding the integrity of financial reporting across our global operations.

About the Role

This role offers you the opportunity to take ownership, show initiative, and fast-track your personal development. As a Financial Control Specialist, you will design, implement, and monitor internal control systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. You will conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas of vulnerability and develop strategies to mitigate identified risks.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance and standardize internal processes, ensuring consistency and efficiency. Additionally, you will lead internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls and recommend improvements where necessary. You will provide training and guidance to staff on internal control procedures and best practices.

You will prepare and present reports on internal control findings to senior management, offering actionable insights and recommendations. Furthermore, you will support the Finance team in ensuring data integrity and accuracy across all financial reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and monitor internal control systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas of vulnerability and develop strategies to mitigate identified risks.

What We Offer

A competitive salary of approximately €60,000 - €80,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for growth and professional development. Requirements
  • Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with a completed RA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in internal control, risk management, or auditing.
  • Strong understanding of internal control frameworks and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to take initiative, be self-starting, and work independently.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
