Hardware Lead Engineer

You will be part of an experienced international team of the Platform Development group of DAF Embedded Engineering, located in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. This team delivers world-class engineering in the domains of engine controllers and vehicle controllers.
As a Hardware Lead Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of a new internal combustion engine (ICE) ECU platform for future DAF, Kenworth, and Peterbilt trucks.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Definition and management of hardware and base software requirements throughout the development cycle and after release to production
- Coordination of validation activities, support in defect analysis and resolution planning with appropriate stakeholders
- Creation of development deliverables (including Design For Six Sigma) according to DAF Product Creation Process (PCP)
- Initiation and definition of risk analysis and validation plans for both hardware and software components
- Preparation of system documentation for release to Manufacturing and After Sales
- Alignment with all internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Software Team, Marketing, After Sales, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Supplier)
The Hardware Lead Engineer reports to the Engineering Supervisor EE System Engineering with respect to process, quality, and to the corresponding Project Lead Engineer for project status.
RequirementsTo succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor or Master's Degree in Automotive/Embedded Engineering or equivalent with at least 3 years of experience in a coordinating role
- 3 years of experience with Embedded System Development
- Experience with supplier management
- Team player, pro-active, strong analytical skills, problem-solving attitude
- Knowledge of Design for Six Sigma methodology
- Good English skills are mandatory, combined with Dutch (or at least willingness to learn Dutch)
Contract through Yacht of at least 1 year, we follow the salary chart of DAF Trucks. For this position, the salary range depends on the highest earned degree and years of experience. The range is between €3,400 and max €4,940 gross per month based on 36 hours a week (excluding holiday allowance of 8.33% hour work week).
Yacht also has benefits, including a home office budget of €750 and annually a budget of €3,500 for following courses to further develop in your career.
