Data Platform Engineering Manager

About the Role
As an Engineering Manager in the Data Platforms group at Adyen, you will be responsible for driving the evolution of our Data Platform and having a significant impact Adyen-wide. You will lead a mixed group of high-performing engineers, including backend engineers, data engineers, and data platform engineers, and craft a strong technical and operational strategy and roadmap for evolving Adyen's Data Platform as a whole.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspire, lead, and energize a mixed group of high-performing engineers.
- Craft a strong technical and operational strategy and roadmap for evolving Adyen's Data Platform.
- Lead by example on technical matters and drive appropriate decisions at technical level.
- Work closely with a Product Manager to ship in time and operationalize successful products.
- Mentor, coach, and grow team members, also into leadership positions if the opportunity arises.
Requirements
- Experience leading technical teams in a high-performance tech environment, including people management.
- Ability to communicate complex outcomes with clarity over a wide range of audiences.
- Good understanding of Software Engineering practices, Data Engineering, and System Engineering principles.
- Fluency in Python, with knowledge of Java and Go a plus.
- Extensive knowledge in DevOps pipelines, container orchestration, Hadoop ecosystem, distributed compute frameworks, workflow tooling, and Data Engineering ecosystems.
