Position Overview:

The organization is a prominent player in developing solutions for mushroom cultivation and composting facilities. With a history dating back to 1971, they have consistently evolved their machinery offerings for the mushroom sector. The firm prides itself on delivering solutions that are meticulously designed and manufactured in-house, ensuring top-notch quality in both project design and execution. Their extensive expertise guarantees comprehensive support across all relevant domains globally.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, drafting, and engineering machinery tailored for projects related to mushroom farming, composting, and waste management. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with various departments, including (pre-)engineering, sales, and project teams, as well as engaging with customers and suppliers to gather essential information. You will develop global designs and create concept and workshop drawings based on project requirements. Additionally, you will provide technical guidance and support to the project leader.

This position offers a unique opportunity to evolve into a product owner, overseeing a specific range of machines to ensure standardization and quality assurance. The machinery primarily consists of standard models, with a small percentage tailored to customer specifications, allowing for further development of existing designs.

You may also be tasked with leading innovation projects from conception to prototype, playing a vital role that combines engineering with hands-on support during assembly and testing phases. Your work will culminate in 3D modeling, necessitating frequent collaboration with the R&D Technician to establish testing setups. Within the R&D team, you will work closely with various stakeholders, including the owner, suppliers, purchasing, engineers, and production teams.

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a completed MBO or HBO degree in mechanical engineering. We seek individuals with 8-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, particularly those with a background in R&D and prototype development. Proficiency in Autocad and Inventor 3D, or equivalent 3D design software, is essential. The ideal candidate will exhibit a hands-on approach, be driven, and possess an entrepreneurial spirit, bringing enthusiasm to the role. A balance of pragmatism and creativity is necessary, with the ability to translate concepts and ideas into tangible, innovative products. Experience working in dynamic environments under time constraints is also important. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required.
