Job Title: Synthetic Biology Researcher

We are seeking a highly skilled Synthetic Biology Researcher to join our Research & Development team in Leiden. As a key member of our Fungal Genetics team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing novel molecular biology tools and technologies in the field of Synthetic Biology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the most up-to-date scientific overview of Synthetic Biology.
  • Identify, develop, and implement novel molecular biology tools and technologies.
  • Develop flow cytometry and '-omics' tools for strain improvement and bottlenecks identification.
  • Deliver technical contributions to project-related design-build-test-learn cycles.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, data summaries, and other technical documentations.
  • Participate in developing the intellectual property strategy and drafting patent applications.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Synthetic Biology or adjacent field.
  • Publications and proven track record of research as a Synthetic Biologist.
  • Familiarity with Synthetic Biology projects and research tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently design and pursue novel research.
