Role Overview

Key Responsibilities
The Operations Project Manager is fully accountable for achieving the defined strategic and commercial objectives, as well as the financial outcomes of assigned projects. The field of project management is evolving from technical leadership to contract and process management. This shift highlights the growing need for financial, business, and legal expertise, along with the ability to communicate and engage at various organizational levels in decision-making processes. A crucial aspect of this evolution is the promotion and embedding of the EQUANS Project Management Way, based on the IPMA standard and tailored to the specific operational methods and effectiveness of EQUANS.
Position within the Organization
The Operations Project Manager reports directly to the Business Unit Manager for Projects & Turnarounds.
Main Responsibilities and Areas of Focus
- Strategy: Contributes to the vision and strategy for the department based on market, societal, and organizational developments, while adhering to the overarching vision and strategy of the business unit. Actively involved in initiating and managing new partnerships.
- Client Relations: Builds and maintains relationships with clients and partners. Secures follow-up assignments and makes decisions regarding the outsourcing of tasks. Responsible for the development of new market and client solutions.
- Business Planning: Assists in drafting the Business Plan (multi-year plan) for projects, aligning with the agreed vision and strategy. Achieves the objectives set forth in the Business Plan. Actively works on business cases and new revenue models. Develops investment plans and manages risks.
- Execution: Co-manages the execution departments, monitors productivity, and oversees the overall planning of time, personnel, and resources, making adjustments as necessary. The services provided by this unit are highly complex due to:
- Operating across various markets.
- Managing large, specialized, complex, and often unique long-term projects.
- Integrating a wide range of complex and knowledge-intensive technical disciplines.
- Collaborating with other organizations or organizational units to successfully execute projects.
- Involvement of subcontractors in projects.
- Complex procurement responsibilities.
- Potentially executing project activities in an international context.
- Financial Management: Responsible for sound financial oversight. Minimizes costs and maximizes revenues in collaboration with the business unit controller. Reports according to prescribed procedures. Timely identifies deviations and implements corrective measures to prevent or mitigate risks.
- Personnel Management: Co-responsible for an optimal organizational structure and staffing (including recruitment, development, and turnover) in terms of quantity, level, and professionalism. Responsible for employee development, coaching, and mentoring.

What We Offer

- A salary range between €5,500 and €7,800 gross per month, depending on your relevant experience and education.
- A permanent contract.
- 25 vacation days, with 5 as part of the benefits budget.
- 13 ADV days, with 3 as part of the benefits budget for a 40-hour work week.

- Pension scheme according to the metal and technology pension fund (PMT) and a contribution to health insurance.

In addition to an attractive salary, EQUANS stands out with more options for flexible secondary employment benefits. Based on your salary, you will receive a fixed percentage of benefits budget amounting to 3% of your gross annual salary.
