Assistant Project Manager

Damen Offshore & Specialized Vessels is a leading manufacturer of innovative, Engineered to Order (ETO) vessels that meet current and developing market demands. Our goal is to develop, design, and construct maritime projects for various markets, including defense & security, public transport, offshore, and dredging.
The RoleWe are seeking an enthusiastic and communicative Assistant Project Manager to join our OSV Project Management Department. As Assistant Project Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting, assisting, and contributing to the management of the project, ensuring timely delivery, within budget, and in accordance with quality specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in kicking off the project, determining the scope of work, and drawing up project plans and deliverables in collaboration with the project team.
- Monitor progress of engineering, supply chain, and production activities to ensure timely delivery of vessels to customers.
- Identify project risks and determine mitigation actions.
- Inform stakeholders on a regular basis with project status regarding timing, quality, risks, costs, and contractual requirements.
- Manage disturbances in the process that might impact time, quality, and costs.
- Deliver vessels to clients, fulfilling contractual requirements, and handing over the project after successful delivery to our Services department.
- Follow up on vessels during the warranty phase to ensure feedback for product improvement.
- Improve processes and products at design and detail level in relation to various sub-processes, such as engineering, construction, and procurement processes, and reduce failure costs and improve quality.
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Maritime Technology, or Electric and Automation.
- Ability to set priorities, take a process-centered approach, and maintain overview.
- Organizational skills, quality-conscious focus, and flexible, customer-oriented personality.
- Team player who can oversee red lines in projects and socially skilled, motivating the team to go the extra mile.
- Result-oriented with a keen eye for organizational sensitivity.
- Communicative with all levels from production to executive level.
- Good communication skills (both oral and written) in both Dutch and English.
