About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Front-end Engineer to join our Growth Team at Studyportals. As a key member of our Product Engineering department, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing new functionalities to grow our user engagement targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create new functionality and optimize existing code to increase the number of visitors and students using our core functionality by 30%.
  • Help us become more scalable as a platform by decoupling dependencies and driving our microservice architecture.
  • Share knowledge with team members and develop yourself further as a developer using your personal development budget.
Team and Technology

You will be part of a scrum team of 4, working closely with our Product Owner to set product priorities. Our team uses a service-oriented architecture, powered by our own RESTful API and AWS, with VueJS, Node/NPM, TypeScript, and Sass. We are scaling up our infrastructure, moving towards Docker and centralized CI/CD tooling.

Requirements
  • At least a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with Agile processes and willingness to take on the Scrum Master role.
  • Experience building applications in JavaScript component-based frameworks, modern JavaScript, TypeScript, NPM, and Webpack.
  • HTML5, CSS3/SCSS are second nature.
  • Experience with automated testing as part of CI/CD driven software development.
