About the Role

We are seeking an experienced SAP Project Manager to join our team in the Netherlands. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for the overall management of large-scale, high-risk, or strategic projects throughout their lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the delivery model for customer projects, including the composition of pre-defined services, on-site, and/or remote delivery.
  • Position SAP Activate as the delivery methodology.
  • Conduct project planning activities and manage the execution of large-scale, high-risk, or strategic projects according to plan.
  • Evaluate complex situations accurately and identify viable solutions that create successful outcomes for customers.
  • Manage relationships with project stakeholders, including internal and external clients, and keep them informed of progress and issues.
  • Manage and communicate a clear vision of the project's objectives and motivate the project team to achieve them.
  • Ensure proper use of methodology, tools, and procedures.
  • Manage the financial aspects of the project, including budgeting and estimate-to-actual variance.
  • Analyze risk, establish contingency plans, and identify trigger events and responsibilities for initiating mitigating action.
  • Proactively manage project stakeholder satisfaction to position and secure customer references and success stories.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of project management experience in large-scale, high-risk, or strategic projects.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams within a formalized methodology.
  • Experience in the industry the customer belongs to is a plus.
  • Experience in delivering Fixed Price Projects (FPP) or Time and Material (T&M) engagements.
  • Demonstrated expertise in creating and maintaining project deliverables, such as project charters, project management plans, status reports, project timesheets, communications plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing issues, scope, and quality while bringing projects to successful completion within cost and time requirements.
  • Some international implementation experience is required.
  • Experience in managing project P&L in cross-LoB delivery of engagements.

Language

Fluency in Dutch and English (both written and oral) is required.

Education and Qualifications

  • A clear vision of what determines a successful project for the customer and for the enterprise.
  • Knowledge of and competency in project management processes, including planning tasks, resource allocation, risk management, time management, financial management, HR management, quality management, monitoring and reporting, documenting, and record-keeping.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change.
  • Excellent understanding of SAP solutions and of the consulting business processes and functions.
  • Highly developed business acumen.
  • Liaison and consultative skills, including negotiating skills within a context of high political sensitivity and conflicting interests.
  • Strong writing, mentoring, decision-making, communication, and meeting facilitation skills, with the ability to utilize a combination of formal authority and persuasion skill sets.
  • Knowledge of the strategic and operational issues of project management.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.

Location

This role is based in the Netherlands, and we are not able to consider candidates who require a relocation package.
