Embedded Systems Designer

About the Role:

We are seeking a talented Hardware Engineer to join our team at RMG Recruitment (Pty) Ltd. As a Hardware Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and drafting hardware for control systems, working on projects ranging from a few kilowatts to several megawatts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Validate and correct equipment lists;
• Design schematics in EPLAN Electric P8;
• Advise on instrumentation selection;
• Support sales engineers with detailed calculations (in the long term, once you are well-trained);
• Communicate with internal and external parties during the design/execution phase and assist external parties with E-service inquiries;
• Assist Commissioning Field Service Engineers in the start-up and servicing of projects, sometimes on-site at client locations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience in Control Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Automation;
• Familiarity with the Machinery Directive NEN-EN-IEC and Switchgear Design Verification NEN-EN-IEC;
• Experience with EPLAN P8;
• Strong practical electrical insight;
• Ability to work in a structured and accurate manner;
• Good planning and organizational skills;
• Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems for process analysis/control is a plus;
• Basic knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal/reading PLC programs is a plus;
• VCA certificate or willingness to obtain it in the short term;
• Proficiency in Afrikaans and English; German is a plus.
