Job Title: Senior Research Assistant/Research Assistant I in the Department of Medicine
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced research assistant to join our team in the Department of Medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing data analysis on computational biology, bioinformatics, genomics, proteomics, cytomics, and next-generation sequencing to identify genetic and cytome biomarkers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct data analysis using advanced programming languages such as Matlab, Python, or R.
- Carry out integrative mechanistic studies in a collaborative environment.
- Utilize cutting-edge experimental and computational methods to analyze large and complex datasets.
- Prepare scientific publications, grant proposals, and reports.
- Provide general administrative and operational support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- A Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Biochemistry, or related disciplines, with at least 1 year's post-qualification experience.
- Research experience in the field of computational biology, machine learning, and advanced programming.
- High level of expertise in analysis of large and complex datasets.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
- Applicants with less experience or lower qualifications may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant I.
What We Offer:
The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 2-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave, medical benefits, and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
