Document Controller

We are seeking a skilled Document Controller to support a ship-building project team by processing and exchanging all relevant documentation to and from the customer, partners and/or subcontractors.
About the Role
As a Document Controller at Damen Naval, you will be responsible for setting up the planning and execution of scheduled internal/external distributions, and coordinating the follow-up. You will ensure that information is shared and available compliant with permissions, and that the exchanged information is duly registered in the Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems under configuration control.
Key Responsibilities
The key accountabilities of this role include:
- Processing incoming and outgoing documents and vendor data in different databases (PDM, PLM)
- Registration, distribution, and expediting to ensure availability to authorized personnel and recipients
- Ensuring timely delivery of internal documents and vendor data
- Coordinating the internal and external stakeholders (customer, subcontractor, colleagues) to resolve document or data issues across different sub-projects
- Initiating effective mitigating actions in case of expected overrun of delivery times
- Reporting on the status and progress of Document Control activities
- Identifying and implementing improvements for Document Control tasks
Requirements
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:
- 2+ years of experience with document control, administration, and processing vendor documents in a technical, logistic, or production environment
- Experience working with PDM (Enovia) and PLM software
- Extensive experience with MS Office (Excel)
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration or Logistical-related study
- Competencies: accuracy, proactive attitude, keen eye for detail, flexibility, good communication, and interpersonal skills
- Good command of the English language, both written and verbal, is essential; ideally, you also have basic language skills in Dutch or German or are at least willing to learn one of these languages
- Excellent references and antecedents, as a pre-employment and security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure
