We are seeking a highly skilled Material and Corrosion Engineer to join our team at SBM Offshore. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the selection and application of materials for our floating production systems, including FPSOs, FSOs, and FLNGs.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement material selection philosophies and strategies for process equipment and utilities.
- Perform corrosion rate evaluations and erosion rate assessments for conventional and non-conventional streams.
- Review and ensure compliance with international standards, client requirements, and internal technical standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure material selection and corrosion control are aligned with project specifications and contracts.
- Provide specialist support for vendor equipment selection and procurement.
- Interface with operations and asset integrity teams on materials and corrosion control topics.
- 10 years' experience in corrosion control and material selection for FPSOs, FSOs, and FLNGs.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Metallurgy, Petroleum, Materials Science, or related technical field.
- Certification from corrosion and materials related professional association is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of international offshore material selection standards, corrosion rate calculation software, and materials failure mechanisms.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with ability to work in a multicultural environment.
