IT Support Specialist
The University of Hong Kong is a leading global institution focused on research and teaching excellence. The Teaching and Learning Innovation Centre (TALIC) is a newly established unit that supports and enhances teaching and learning across all disciplines by promoting best practices in pedagogy, assessment, e-learning, and feedback informed by educational research.
The appointee will be responsible for:
- Providing technical support for various programs, events, and workshops;
- Undertaking helpdesk services, troubleshooting, and maintenance of computing and AV equipment;
- Providing basic media editing services, including video and photo shooting and editing;
- Developing and maintaining web applications;
- Working independently to deadlines and providing excellent customer service to users;
- Performing occasional Saturday and evening duties.
Requirements and Qualities
Applicants should possess a higher diploma in Computer Science or a related discipline, with 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience in technical support, knowledge of PC technical support, and system administration. They should have a good command of written and spoken English, good communication and problem-solving skills. Fresh graduates will also be considered, and on-the-job training will be provided. Those with more experience and/or higher qualifications may be considered for appointment as IT Technician/Senior IT Assistant.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made on a fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, commencing as soon as possible, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
