What will you do?

Project Overview


• At Demcon Defense & Security Systems, we are engaged in the development of unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) and occasionally Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) for various applications, including autonomous navigation in outdoor and off-road environments. Simulation is a crucial component of our development process, and we have created our own simulator to facilitate realistic simulations of unmanned vehicles, their sensors, and actuators.


• Your task will involve crafting a realistic 3D environment utilizing Unity. This environment will serve as the operational landscape for the autonomous UGVs, enabling them to navigate independently.


• The 3D terrain must be modeled after a real-world location and should feature a diverse array of elements such as vegetation, structures, and water bodies. Additionally, the environment should incorporate dynamic entities, including vehicles and people, potentially with a scripting interface to manage their behaviors.


• Depending on your academic background and requirements, this assignment can be tailored to fit either a graduation project or an internship.

What do you bring?

Currently pursuing a BSc degree at HBO (university of applied sciences) in fields such as ICT, Computer Science, or Game Development. Strong interest and experience with Unity. Analytical mindset and ability to work independently. Enthusiastic and proactive attitude. Interest in robotics technology and autonomous systems. Availability for a minimum of 16 weeks to work at our facility. Familiarity with C#, Python, and/or ROS(2) is advantageous.

• Depending on the specifics of your assignment, there may be opportunities to test your work on actual autonomous robots (UGVs and occasionally drones).


• You will have a dedicated technical supervisor to guide you throughout your internship.
