Job Description:

Syngenta Group is seeking a passionate Phytosanitary Specialist to join our team in The Netherlands.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position responsible for safeguarding plant health and maintaining top-tier phytosanitary standards across our Flowers R&D sites in Enkhuizen and Andijk.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and address pest and disease issues, developing targeted action plans and collaborating with specialist growers to minimize risks.
  • Lead the "Start Clean – Stay Clean" initiative, implementing preventative policies to protect plant health across departments.
  • Write, update, and maintain phytosanitary protocols, ensuring integration with quality management systems.
  • Train colleagues in pest and disease identification to strengthen team expertise.
  • Collaborate with the global phytosanitary team for knowledge sharing and aligned practices.
  • Build effective relationships with regulatory bodies, such as Nak-tuinbouw and NPPO, and stay informed on emerging market risks.
  • Maintain accurate records, manage non-conformities, and contribute to audit processes to uphold compliance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of plant pathology and pest management.
  • Familiarity with laboratory techniques relevant to plant pathology and pest identification.
  • Knowledge of various growing systems and phytosanitary and pest control regulations.
  • Proven capability to analyze complex plant disease or pest issues and devise effective solutions.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Preferrable Dutch language skills or willingness to learn.
