The Role

You will be responsible for overseeing the Quality Assurance (QA) team assigned to the ASWF naval shipbuilding project. This high-profile project requires your expertise in mechanical engineering to ensure quality excellence. Fluency in Dutch is essential, as the ASWF Frigates are built for the Dutch and Belgian Marine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Project Quality team to ensure quality excellence in naval projects
  • Coordinate quality processes and promote a quality mindset in shipbuilding projects
  • Develop and maintain QA registration system processes
  • Participate in project and department progress meetings
  • Liaise with the Government Quality Assurance Representative (GQAR)

Requirements and Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with:

  • At least 3 years of experience in Quality Management, preferably in the naval or defense industry
  • Experience with manufacturing techniques and processes, preferably in naval shipbuilding
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Technical Business Administration, Shipbuilding, or a relevant technical domain
  • Excellent command of English and Dutch, both written and spoken
  • Availability to occasionally visit the Vlissingen headquarter of Damen Naval
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport required

What We Offer

Damen Naval offers a competitive salary of approximately €85,000 per annum, along with 8% holiday pay. Additionally, you will enjoy:

  • 27 holidays and 13 ADV days per year
  • Travel allowance of 23 cents per kilometre
  • PME-pension arrangement with an employer contribution of 60%
  • Profit sharing based on company results
  • Flexibility to work from home up to two days a week

Location

This role is based in the Netherlands, with occasional travel to Vlissingen required.
