We are seeking an experienced and proactive Front-end Engineer to join our Growth Team.

To achieve significant growth in users and conversion, we need to build and improve our functionality through technical excellence and innovative product thinking. We require someone to create new landing pages that optimize user conversion, redesign our user account functionality, develop features that tap into the student's decision-making journey, and create a search/selection engine that helps students find their ideal study.

In addition, we aim to improve overall user engagement to better support students in finding the best fitting studies. We place great value on initiative and collaboration.

Your Key Goals:

  • Create new functionality and optimize existing ones to grow the number of visitors and increase the number of students using our core functionality by 30%.
  • Help us become more scalable as a platform by decoupling our dependencies and driving our microservice architecture, ensuring quality control remains a priority.
  • Share your knowledge with your team members and continuously develop yourself further as a developer by utilizing your personal development budget to learn new technologies or methods.

About Your Team:

The Product Engineering department consists of 35 people. You will be part of a scrum team of 4, working closely with your Product Owner to set product priorities and design/implement new functionalities aimed at growing our user engagement targets. This means you will have influence over what to build and how to build it.

You will report to our Software Development Manager, Stefan, who has extensive experience as a developer and understands the systems well. His main responsibility is to ensure you can perform your work optimally, removing impediments, driving technical innovation, and helping you grow professionally.

Our Tech Stack:

We utilize a service-oriented architecture powered by our own RESTful API and AWS. Our products are built using VueJS, Node/NPM, TypeScript, and Sass. We are scaling up our infrastructure, moving towards Docker and centralized CI/CD tooling.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Motivation to take on the Scrum Master role within the team, with great experience in Agile processes.
  • Experience building applications in JavaScript component-based frameworks (e.g., VueJS, React, or Angular), modern JavaScript, TypeScript, NPM, and Webpack.
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming languages.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3/SCSS.
  • Experience with automated testing as part of CI/CD-driven software development.
  • Prioritization of collaboration, open communication, and cross-functional teamwork.
