Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead our team in Amsterdam. As a key member of our ADAS & ADS Product Unit, you will be responsible for managing high-performing engineering teams and overseeing the development of cutting-edge location-based technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Manage one or two engineering teams, directly or indirectly via other Engineering Managers.
  • Dive deep into technical, architectural, and domain-specific challenges that the team encounters when necessary and provide guidance that facilitates their resolution.
  • Set guidelines for all developers in our department by aligning with peers, the industry, and tech leads.
  • Add value to our software engineering practices by challenging and improving the process and applying best practices from the industry.
  • Identify growth opportunities, empowering team members to take ownership and coaching them to success and doing a little bit better every day.
  • Show leadership by identifying opportunities and taking ownership of initiatives outside of your team's scope.
Requirements
  • Experience in Map making, Machine Learning, Computer vision, Sensor data processing and calibration, 3D data processing, SLAM, SfM, graph optimization.
  • Understanding of AI and experience owning a team with a mix of Applied Scientists and Engineers.
  • Ability to assess the impact of your team and experience turning experiments into value-added in production.
  • Highly empathetic, an excellent communicator, a true role model for leadership inputs and principles, and enjoy helping others to be successful just as much as having individual impact.
  • Sufficient technical skills from your background in software development.
  • Possession of knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
