Job Title: Senior Azure Databricks Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Databricks Engineer to join our Data Enabling team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing data model transformations using Azure Databricks PySpark and SQL.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, with experience in designing and implementing data models, data quality, data governance, and data lineage. You will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and design effective data models. Your expertise in Azure Databricks, PySpark, and SQL will enable you to develop and maintain data model transformations, as well as develop and enhance Data Factory pipelines and Dataflow ETL code.

You will be responsible for:

  • Designing data model transformations using Azure Databricks PySpark and SQL
  • Developing and maintaining data model transformations
  • Developing and enhancing Data Factory pipelines and Dataflow ETL code
  • Refactoring existing SQL code in different solutions into a single version of the truth
  • Improving metadata-driven data loading and transformation processes
  • Monitoring and ensuring stability of the environment
  • Maintaining and improving the CICD pipelines and DevOps way of working
  • Cost optimization on Azure and data usage
  • Proactively training and coaching less experienced colleagues in and outside the team
About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from designing and implementing data models to developing and enhancing Data Factory pipelines and Dataflow ETL code.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5 years of working experience with Azure Databricks and preferably PySpark
  • 10 years of working experience as a data engineer ETL
  • 5 years of working experience with data quality, data governance, and data lineage
  • Experience in requirement analysis, prototyping, and designing based on stakeholder requirements

It would be nice if you also have:

  • Experience with Azure Data Factory and Data Lake
  • Experience with large data platforms and parallel processing technologies
