Job Description

The client is preparing for the replacement of the existing control system, MOD5, by a new ABB800xA control system. The preparation involves extensive simulation of plant software programmed in the ABB800xA platform. The team uses the Indiss Plus high-fidelity simulator for simulation and training. Over 700 operational procedures need to be revised to match the requirements of the new DCS ABB800xA. Procedure translation from English to Dutch and vice versa is required.

Responsibilities

The Senior Process Control Technician will provide support to operators regarding new DCS applications to ensure smooth and safe startup of new DCS. The candidate will perform simulations and testing of new DCS applications during plant turnarounds. The hiring period is expected to be 18 months starting in Q1-2024, with an extension of another 18 months expected by July 2025.

Requirements

• Education level: Vocational
• Educational specialization: Process Automation technician, Process Control technician, Programming technician (PLC, DCS), or Instrumentation technician
• MOD5 control system knowledge is required
• Light hydrocarbons process technology understanding is required
• ABB800xA control system knowledge is preferred
• Dynamic simulation knowledge with Indiss-Plus software is preferred
• Operators training experience is preferred
• Former experience in commissioning and startup of projects is required
• Procedure translation from English to Dutch and vice versa for project purposes is required
• Fluency in Dutch and English language
• Excellent terms.
