Senior Software Security Engineer

LyondellBasell is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Software Engineer – Security to join our Digital Technologies team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for defining and governing secure custom software engineering solutions, collaborating with various teams to implement secure design principles, and addressing security risks.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement secure custom software engineering solutions, ensuring compliance with LYB's security standards and processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address security risks, deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement in LYB's software engineering ecosystem.
- Ensure all custom software engineering work, including vendor-developed custom code, adheres to LYB's security standards and processes.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging software engineering security trends and their potential impact on LYB's custom software engineering efforts.
- Conduct security testing and code reviews to improve software security and produce technical documentation and reporting as required.
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to foster the transfer and collaboration of secure software engineering principles.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or Software Engineering (Master's preferred).
- 7+ years of professional hands-on software engineering experience, with a Ph.D., or 9+ years with an MS degree, or 11+ years with a BS degree, ideally with experience in a security software engineering focused role.
- Secure software engineering or cybersecurity-related certifications, such as ISSEP, CISSP, CCSP, and cloud security certifications, are desired but not required.
- Knowledge of software security testing and auditing, including penetration testing, and techniques, standards, and state-of-the-art capabilities for authentication and authorization, applied cryptography, security vulnerabilities, and remediation.
- Strong Python, JavaScript, and/or other programming experience.
