Key Responsibilities

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Emerson, you will be responsible for planning and designing tools, machines, and equipment, as well as overseeing their installation, commissioning, and operation. You will work closely with the Operations department to ensure that manufacturing processes are efficient, safe, and effective.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Communicating with the Production team to understand support requirements
  • Ensuring that appropriate process tooling, procedures, and equipment are in place
  • Identifying capital equipment that will contribute to process and quality improvements, cost reductions, and variation elimination
  • Providing support in identifying and resolving potential safety hazards in the manufacturing area
  • Evaluating and improving the flow of materials/products through manufacturing processes
  • Identifying and monitoring quality indicators and resolving equipment/tooling design/process problems
  • Implementing new products per schedules
  • Reviewing key process performance indicators for potential improvement
  • Assisting in developing operator training and qualification programs
  • Initiating process improvement activities through the use of statistical techniques
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Fluent English language skills; verbal, reading, and writing
  • Any other additional European languages are an advantage, in particular Dutch
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a manufacturing engineering environment
  • Knowledge of machining, welding, mechanical assembly, electronics assembly, and testing
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM and micro-computer programming desired
  • Knowledge and experience with hardware and software architecture with fully/semi-automated manufacturing and material handling equipment
  • Strong Project Management knowledge/experience, particularly in manufacturing environments
  • Consistent record of Continuous Process Improvement methods (Kaizen, Six Sigma), having improved manufacturing processes by using relevant tools/techniques/eliminating wastes
  • Sound knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques
  • Knowledge and experience with statistical process control and statistical methods to improve manufacturing processes

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant Engineering field or equivalent experience
