About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at Philips. As a Research Scientist, you will play a key role in converting our ideas and patents in digital audio and video (A/V) signal processing into worldwide standards.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new ideas to enhance A/V technology for future standards, based on a good understanding of our existing A/V patent portfolio and current state of the standardization efforts.
- Collaborate with our team of A/V experts to ensure that your ideas and implementations deliver the desired experience.
- Implement A/V processing algorithms within the framework of international standardization bodies.
- Participate actively in standardization meetings.
Requirements:
- PhD or MSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering (Software, Computer, Electrical, Electronics/Communications, Biomedical, etc.).
- Good understanding of recent developments in the A/V domain.
- Experience in algorithm development, preferably in the A/V domain.
- Hands-on experience in standardization, preferably in the A/V domain.
- Willingness to travel and actively engage in standardization meetings, such as MPEG and 3GPP.
- Strong collaboration skills and team player mentality.
- Strong conceptual and communication skills.
Advantages:

- Programming experience in C or C++ software.
