Project Overview
AECOM is proud to play a key role in the expansion of the Port of Rotterdam, one of the world's largest and most crucial transport hubs. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Resident Engineer to join our team as we provide project and construction management services for this significant upgrade.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project management strategies, plans, and procedures to ensure successful project execution and quality outcomes;
- Manage project budgets, schedules, risks, and resources, and ensure timely and accurate reporting to internal and external stakeholders;
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and contractors, and identify new business opportunities;
- Mentor and coach project staff and foster a collaborative and high-performing project team culture;
- Manage the supervision of construction works under FIDIC contracts;
- Ensure compliance with contract specifications, drawings, quality standards, health and safety regulations, and environmental policies;
- Coordinate and communicate with the client, contractor, design team, and other stakeholders on site;
- Review and approve contractor's work plans, method statements, progress reports, and payment certificates;
- Issue instructions, variations, and notices to the contractor as required by the contract;
- Resolve technical issues and disputes on site;
- Prepare regular site reports and maintain site records;
- Assist with the commissioning, testing, and handover of the completed works.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field;
- Proficiency in English; Dutch language skills are a plus;
- Minimum of 15 years professional experience;
- Recognised Professional or Chartered status in Engineering e.g. MICE, PE, etc.;
- Minimum experience on five (5) infrastructure development projects in a port or marine terminal environment with a construction value in excess of €200m;
- Minimum experience on five (5) infrastructure development projects working as part of the Site Engineering Supervision Construction role;
- Minimum experience of holding the role of the Engineer on five infrastructure projects and directly accountable for construction works in excess of €100m.
