About the Role
As we expand our operations into Europe, we are seeking a seasoned Dutch qualified lawyer (or equivalent) to join our team in Amsterdam. This role is pivotal as you will report directly to the Head of Legal for Europe, contributing significantly to our ambition of establishing a European banking presence.
Your Responsibilities
In this dynamic position, you will:
- Support the Head of Legal in building a robust legal team in Europe.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior legal team members, guiding their professional development.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders across various departments, acting as a strategic business partner.
- Draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements with clients, partners, and suppliers.
- Advise on regulatory compliance and commercial aspects of contracts, ensuring alignment with financial services regulations.
- Maintain and update ClearBank Europe's template legal documents in accordance with legal and regulatory changes.
- Assist with corporate governance matters as needed.
- Conduct legal training sessions on commercial law and regulatory compliance for internal teams.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree in Dutch law with substantial experience in commercial law, particularly within the financial services sector.
- Expertise in contractual principles and a proven track record in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Experience in financial law and outsourcing principles, with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively.
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
