Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Hotel Maintenance Engineer to join our team at the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's facilities and equipment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the management of engineering operations and budgets.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards.
  • Manage and control heat, light, and power, and recommend current best methods for energy conservation and economical facility operations.
  • Develop specifications and requirements for service contracts and administer such contracts to support building needs.
  • Distribute preventive maintenance and repair work orders and monitor timeliness and quality of completion.
  • Oversight of the maintenance of grounds, guestrooms, public space, restaurants, property vehicles, and recreational facilities.
  • Develop a long-term plan for preventative maintenance and asset protection and oversee execution of plan.
  • Coordinate with contractors for bids and construction to ensure timely completion of projects within budgetary guidelines.
  • Build positive relationships with external customers, such as city building/zoning department, fire prevention bureau, and vendors.
  • Ensure fire crew has complete understanding of all procedures, equipment, and alarms.
  • Perform monthly property inspection to ensure buildings and grounds are maintained in excellent condition.
  • Conduct guest room and common area inspection to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities to determine the type of work required.
  • Recommend or arrange for additional services, such as painting, repair work, renovations, and replacement of furnishings and equipment.
  • Select and order or purchase new equipment, supplies, and furnishings.
  • Manage parts and equipment inventory.

Requirements
  • Speak English and have a basic understanding of Dutch (B1 level).
  • Previous experience in engineering.
  • Strong administrative and communicative skills.
  • Previous hotel maintenance experience.
  • Flexibility.
