Job Overview

We are looking for a talented Python and SAS Expert to join our team. As a key member of our data migration team, you will be responsible for migrating SAS-based programs to Python (leveraging PySpark) and ensuring seamless transition and optimization of our data processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze existing SAS programs to identify areas for improvement and optimize them using Python and PySpark.
  • Develop a comprehensive migration plan, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Convert SAS code of analytical assets to Python or PySpark, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the new programs.
  • Enhance the performance of migrated programs by leveraging the capabilities of Python and PySpark.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of migrated programs to ensure they meet performance and functionality standards.
  • Evaluate all work completed in compliance with internal Privacy and Security Policies and Procedures and migration project practices.
  • Meet timelines and milestones by monitoring deliverables. Identify, report, and help solve potential risks and issues.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of migration processes, including code changes, testing procedures, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate closely with data scientists, data engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful migration and integration of programs.
  • Provide training and support to team members on the new Python/PySpark-based programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in SAS programming and at least 5+ years of experience in Python, Jupyter Notebooks, Databricks, Git, and SQL.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Python, SAS, and Databricks platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data processing and analysis related to Finance and Risk data.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure.
  • Familiarity with database systems and data warehousing concepts.
  • Problem-solving skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
