About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Specialist to join our team at ING Netherlands.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our complex database infrastructure, with a focus on Db2 on Linux environments. This includes operational management, patching, upgrading, and troubleshooting of databases.

As a key member of our team, you will work closely with colleagues to ensure seamless database operations, provide support for database syncs using IBM InfoSphere Data Replication (CDC), and contribute to the development of new projects and initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor/Master level of education
  • 10 years of relevant work experience in a complex IT environment
  • Expert-level knowledge of Db2 on Linux
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum, DevOps, and continuous delivery tools like GIT and Azure pipeline
  • Experience with performance tuning, performance tools, and automation using PowerShell and/or korn/bash shell
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills
  • Fluent in both English and Dutch, both verbally and in writing
