Job Title: Congestion Management Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled Congestion Management Consultant to join our team at DNV. As a consultant, you will play a key role in supporting our clients in reducing and solving congestion in power grids.

About the Role

As a Congestion Management Consultant, you will be responsible for analyzing, advising, and supporting clients on how to manage and speed up grid expansion and reinforcement, connection of new renewable energy sources and customers within the targets of their business values.

You will work closely with our clients to understand their business processes and identify opportunities for improvement. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing solutions to optimize system performance, linked to business drivers and top priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver projects and assignments related to congestion management at various voltage levels in power grids for distribution and transmission utilities.
  • Perform grid congestion analysis and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Participate in customer assignments and work in customer project teams at customer sites to tackle the increasing need for grid investments.
  • Provide guidance and support to new team members with a focus on handling power flow constraints in grids.
  • Support business development by providing feedback to line management, key account & business development managers.
  • Travel nationally and by occasion internationally.
Requirements

We are looking for enthusiastic team players who understand the technical consequences of a business decision as well as the business consequences of a technical decision. You should have a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and basic knowledge of grid modeling and performing power system studies and analysis.

You should also have experience with Vision Network Analysis, DigSilent PowerFactory or other similar software tools, and be familiar with the impact of the Energy Transition on power grids.

Strong analysis and reporting skills are essential, as well as excellent English and preferably also excellent Dutch communication skills.
