About the Role

The Development Team Lead (DTL) is a key position within de Bijenkorf's IT department, responsible for guiding a team of software engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the architecture and design of software, providing technical guidance and solutions to complex problems.
  • Perform code reviews and monitor compliance with coding standards and best practices within the team.
  • Take the lead in resolving technical issues and supporting the team in resolving issues.
  • Coordinate daily activities of the team, including distributing tasks and managing workload.
  • Ensure positive team dynamics and provide support and guidance to team members.
  • Serve as the main liaison between the development team and other departments such as product management, design, and operations.
  • Maintain regular communication with stakeholders to report progress and gather feedback.
  • Ensure adequate documentation of the development process, technical decisions, and systems.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in the development processes and propose changes to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Stay informed of new technologies and techniques and investigate how they can be applied within the team.
  • Provide mentoring to less experienced developers to improve their technical skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of work experience in software development, 2 years of experience in a managerial position, experience with complex architecture and delivering, improving and maintaining complex environments.
  • HBO/WO thinking level (Completed HBO/University bachelor's degree)
  • Knowledge of JVM based languages such as Java, Kotlin
  • Knowledge of front end techniques such as JS, TS, React
  • Knowledge of high volume, high traffic web environments
  • Preferably knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Azure/GCP/AWS, Cloudflare and Jenkins.
  • Team player, motivator of his/her development team, bridge between technology and functionality
