About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Assortment Planning and Merchandising to join our team at Foot Locker. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive assortment planning strategy that drives business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a strategic assortment planning process that aligns with the company's business objectives and goals.
  • Lead a team of Assortment Planners and Merchandise Analysts to ensure effective execution of the assortment planning process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Buying, Marketing, and Operations, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of merchandise.
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth, improve profitability, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Manage and analyze data to inform business decisions and drive business outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in assortment planning and merchandising.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in assortment planning and merchandising, preferably in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Proven track record of driving business growth and profitability through effective assortment planning and merchandising strategies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and drive business decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the retail industry.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with planning tools (Marketmax, Arthur, SAP, etc.).
