Global Security Expert

Cordaid, a leading civil society organization in the Netherlands, seeks a seasoned Global Security Advisor to spearhead its safety and security initiatives. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the secure access of people in need.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of international and local developments, with the ability to analyze and translate them into actionable recommendations for security policy improvements. A Master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is required, along with at least 5 years of experience in Security Risk Management within a development or humanitarian organization.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement Cordaid's security policy and procedures, ensuring compliance with best practices and organizational standards.
- Provide guidance and operational support to regional security advisors and security officers, fostering a community of experts that share standardized ways of working.
- Monitor compliance with security policies, identifying areas of concern and informing relevant stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of country security plans, ensuring they are reviewed and updated regularly.
- Promote security awareness throughout the organization, collaborating with departments to establish effective risk management systems.
- Mastery of Security Risk Management principles and practices.
- Strong analytical and advisory skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues effectively.
- Experience in incident and crisis management, including training teams on crisis response.
- Excellent written and spoken English and French language skills.
- Ability to work irregular hours, travel to insecure areas, and maintain a flexible attitude.
Cordaid provides a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of €65,000-€85,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
